Wanna Participate in Saturday 9?
1. When you go to a restaurant do you tip better if the server is good-looking?
No but I have been known to leave a note telling him how cute he is!
2. Have you ever asked anyone to turn off their cellphone in public because it bothered you?
OMGosh NO! How friggin rude! Having a conversation on a phone is no different than having a conversation with a person sitting next to you! People are too easily offended! Don't worry about things that don't affect you!
3. Is your noon meal called "lunch" or "dinner?"
Lunch...if I eat at all! LOL
4. Do you generally make reservations first?
I haven't made reservations some place in a long time. I will call ahead and get my name put on their wait list if I'm on the way to a restaurant though.
5. Do you ask for a booth or a table?
I don't really ask for either. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 5 years and it's hard enough to juggle seating arrangements as it is. When you add everyone's goofy requests along with that it's just a huge PITA!
6. Do you ask for a doggie bag?
Yup, and usually before I eat my meal. Helps me with my portion control.
7. Would you complain to the management if there were children crying nearby?
NO! Is it the managers kid?? What on earth could he do about it? Shove a sock in the kids mouth! People are so friggin up-tight!
8. Have you ever sent food back?
Yes, although I realize this goes against my thoughts on making the restaurants job easier. But I figure I'm paying for the food it should be done the way I like it.
9. Do you find servers singing "Happy Birthday" cute or annoying?
It's fine. It's only for a second. Why sweat the small stuff??
~In the words of the Grammar Snob.....I tend to curse and make little things seem like BIG FREAKING THINGS and overreact and think the world revolves around me. BUT! I can be sweet and charming sometimes. You should focus on those times.~

Manic Monday: Drink
This week's Manic Monday theme is Drink. Being out of the creative mood and knowing I haven't done a "Google" post in a while I thought it would be the perfect way to get this post started. I thought I'd talke about the first 5 sites that popped up on google. The first 5 sites out of about 263,000,000 for drink were all sites for mixed drinks (except Wikipedia) and I was kinda disapointed. I mean, that's boring to talk about 5 sites that are pretty much the same. So below are those if you'd like to take a gander.
Over 32000 Mixed Drink Recipes Wikipedia Drinksmixer.com Webtender Drink of the Week
Then I on the 3rd page of the google listings I finally found an interesting blog . Another interesting blog . I also found on Flickr photos tagged with “Drink”
In all not a great topic to google if you're looking for something incredibly interesting. Sorry I don't have more for ya!

Saturday 9: x5
Wow one of the my favorite MEMES is Saturday 9! I love answering questions because you can really tell people a lot about you that way but with less typing (yes I'm lazy). I knew I missed a week or 2 because I've been so busy lately. So when I checked the Saturday 9 Blog I was shocked to see I had missed FIVE Saturdays since I started it! I had no idea I'd been THAT busy! So here goes. Saturday 9x5!
1. What was the best thing that happened to you this week?
I FINALLY got my own Karaoke gig this week!
2. What was the worst thing that happened this week?
Aunt Flo came to visit me this week. grrrrrr
3. Describe an item of clothing that has definitely seen better days but that you refuse to dispose of and still wear. Why won't you toss it?
My Betty Boop t-shirt and my Route 66 t-shirt. I just love them!
4. Have you ever lied about your age?
Nope. I'm totally okay with my 28 years. People often think I'm younger and I just cringe because I don't want to be in the same category as immature people!
5. Would you rather be behind the scenes or in the spotlight?
I guess that depends on the situation. I'm definitely a spotlight person as long as I'm feeling confident and in control. It took me a long time to be comfortable singing karaoke and now I don't even think about it.
6. Where was your first out-of-country trip? How was it?
It's really hard to count a jont across the Nogalas, AZ border into Nogalas, Sonora an out-of-country trip. I was 11 when we first went.
7. Do you like surprises? If yes what kinds? If no, why not?
If it's a gift or something pleasant than I LOVE surprises! I hate NOT being surprised in that situation. If you're going to surprise me by jumping out at me from a dark doorway be prepared for me to cry and have a nervous breakdown and quite possibly go ninja on your ass.
8. Have you ever had sex with two different people on the same day?
OY! So pleading the 5th on this one!
9. Which do you prefer, the sunrise or the sunset?
I'm less grumpy at Sunset since I haven't had to wake up to see it. I'm not very nice when I first wake up.

Flashback Friday: July 2006
This was an email to an online support group I've had for over 5 years. It was July 26, 2006 and I remember it well. It was a rough day! Oh and the reason I fell was Ethan had spilled orange juice all over the kitchen floor. I don't think I'd ever fallen that hard in my life! I was hurtin! The pictures below are from that summer. I can't believe how big the kids are getting now.
Well, my day went from sucky to I-just-should-have-stayed-in-bed bad! I have fallen down twice! I could have hurt myself pretty badly so I guess I got lucky, but I'm feeling kind of bruised. We were late this AM for swim and I ran out of swim diapers. I had to drag all my kids to wal-mart for milk and swim diapers. It took me 15 minutes to get a screaming Ethan off one of the D@*% toys on the way out the door. Ethan went down screaming for a nap and came up screaming from it. I talked to my mom about 6 times today and each time I managed to come away feeling like crap. I hit my neighbors car backing out of the driveway, no damage thank heavens, but I feel terrible about it! And to top it all off I very nearly got a ticket for parking a quarter inch of my tires on the sidewalk in front of my mom's house. I think the cop saw the I'm-going-to-kill-myself look on my face (either that or didn't want to deal with a lady with 3 cranky kids) because he looked at me like I had 3 eyes, mumbled a warning, and took off kind of quickly. Did I mention Allen is out of town ALL WEEK?

T13: Edition 2
I'm a reader in a big way. But I neither have nor make the time. It truly is a choice though. If I REALLY wanted to read I would! I make times for the things I want to make time for. Maybe it's time to make a little time for reading! So for Thursday Thirteen I will list 13 books in my shelf I've been meaning to read. And let me tell you it was tought just choosing 13! *And I'm realizing that I just spent an hour on this post and I could have been reading one of these books. hmmmm
1. 100 Tips for Parents Raising Healthy Eaters. by Henry Legere, M.D. read Review I'm fairly certain my mother in her nuerotic need to make me a better person bought me this book. I'm actually okay with how my kids eat.
2. Making Children Mind without Losing Yours. by Dr Kevin Leman. Read a good article referencing this book. I may have bought myself this book, although I don't remember when or for how long I've had it. And if you look at my children you'll KNOW I haven't read it!
3. 10 Most Common Mistakes Good Parents Make *And How To Avoid Them. by Kevin Steede, PH.D. Do you see a pattern here? I'm certain my mother bought this one for me.
4. The Out-of-Sync Child. Recognizing and Coping with Sensory Processing Disorder. by Carol Stock Kranowitz, M.A. out-of-sink.com My son has Sensory Processing Disorder (or Sensory Integration Disorder....one is more PC than the other but I don't remember which one). This is a book I borrowed from my mother. I've read some of it. I need to read all of it!
5. The Parenting Breathrough. A Real-Life Plan to Teach Your Kids to Work, Save Money, & Be Truly Independent. by Merrilee Brown Boyack. Book Review I bought this book when I went to a conference and saw this woman speak. To be perfectly honest I read a book by her about marriage and I completely disagreed with her. So I think that's why I'm not really gung-ho about reading this one.
6. The Sensory-Sensitive Child. Practical Solutions for Out-of-Bounds Behavior. by Karen A Smith, Ph.D & Karen R Gouze, Ph.D. *See number 4.
7. The Legend of Bagger Vance. A Novel of Golf and the Game of Life. by Steven Pressfield. Book Review I wish I had read this before I saw the movie. I loved the movie mostly because I think Will Smith is an awesome person. But I have such a hard time getting into a book that I've already got a picture of in my mind. I like to use my own imagination. That's probably why I'm procrastinating this one.
8. Relationship Rescue, by Phillip C. McGraw, PH.D. Book Review I realized when I was picking 13 books for this that I actually have TWO copies this book PLUS the workbook. SOMEONE is trying to tell me something. Not sure who though. Probably both me and my mother.
9. Drowning Ruth. by Christina Schwarz. Oprah’s Book Club I cleaned out my bookshelf a few weeks ago for a charity and realized I had TWO copies of this book. So apparently I've meant to read it twice. One of these days.....
10. The Pilot's Wife. by Anita Shreve. And yes the only reason I picked up this book was because the author's last name is Shreve.
11. Family First. Your Step-by-Step Plan for Creating a Phenomenal Family. by Dr Phil McGraw. I hate the word phenomenal. I didn't realize until now that it was on the front cover of this book. I may not read it now just because of that.
12. Laura. America's First Lady, First Mother. by Antonia Feliz. Laura Bush is on Wikipedia. I may just read that instead.
13. Woman to Woman. Candid Conversations from Me to You. by Joyce Meyers. I think Joyce Meyers is great. I've read most of her books although they are more fun to listen to. She's kinda funny.

Tackle It Tuesday: My Piano Lessons
I'm determined to get a few more piano students. Ideally I'd like 5. If I had 5 each week that would be $360 a month. This is not a lot, but for 2.5 hours of work a week it's fantastic. It would pay for my gas for the month plus pay down my debt quicker. So today for Tackle It Tuesday I've been working on updating my piano website (blog) and putting out a couple free online ads. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me! I'm putting this out to the universe now! So everyone go take a look and then tell everyone you know that I need students! LOL
*I'll get back to the cleaning next week I'm sure! LOL

Manic Monday:Want
I Want You To Want Me Lyrics
Today's Manic Monday theme is "Want". And you guessed it I immediately thought of music! The song "I Want You to Want Me" is one of my favorites. I heard it first on the movie 10 Things I Hate About You....SHOCKER my all time favorite movie. Seeing this clip makes me really miss Heath.
I like to sing it at Karaoke sometimes although it's a bit low for my voice. If I had a voice at all I'd record it and post it as well.
And by googling for a lyric scroller I just learned that Lindsey Lohan did a cover of this song. hmmmm I wonder if I'll hate it.....yup I hate it! Although the band she's singing with kicks ass! They cover up her horrible non-voice well!
