~In the words of the Grammar Snob.....I tend to curse and make little things seem like BIG FREAKING THINGS and overreact and think the world revolves around me. BUT! I can be sweet and charming sometimes. You should focus on those times.~

Flashback Friday

This is an email sent out to my mom's group on October 15, 2005. I remember this day very clearly. The day or two before Ethan had gotten ahold of two small cans of black paint I was using to refinish my china cabinet. I THINK he left them out in the sun or something because they EXPLODED! Thank goodness it was out in the dirt, but Ethan was still covered in black paint as was everything he touched. Then on this day he had gotten into orange paint in the house. Thank goodness it was water soluable. OH and this reminds me of something else that happened within a couple days of these incidents. I had a TON of eggs in the fridge and Ethan apparantly decided to make some breakfast. As I recall it was something like 7 DOZEN eggs all over the floor! There are days when I curse my tile (like today) but there are days when I'm SO glad we don't have carpet!

Email to moms group October 15, 2005:
And the saga continues. Today it was orange paint! By the time he was done he and the tile looked like a pumkin! Thank heavens it was water-soluable and was easy to clean, but that kid is going to get one of us killed! I'm either going to kill him or kill myself! ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And my husband said to me "well, what were you doing?" The only reply I could muster was "oh, in the bathtub taking a leisurely bubble bath, w/ some scented candles, and champaign....WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK I WAS DOING!?!?" In actuality I was taking my ritual "spritz". Mothers no longer get "showers". I don't even wait for the water to warm up anymore! I just jump in, freeze my A&& off for a few 2nds, shampoo OR condition my hair (I don't have time to do both), jump out of the shower, throw my towell around me and run down the hall to check on the kids! "It only takes a second" doesn't only mean swimming pools and drowning, it's 2YOs in general! It's gonna take something harder than calgon to take ME away!

Gigi

My greatest fear is that there is no PMS and this is my personality!

And here are pics of the kids around Easter time 2005. 2005 was the year my harddrive crashed so I don't have many pics from that year. Very sad!

MyPoints.com

Have you ever heard of the website, Mypoints??? I have been a member for a couple of years now and love it. You sign up for free! And you start to receive BonusMail which are emails about websites like Netflix or Equifax. For each email that you simply OPEN you get 5 points. Another way to earn points is by shopping online. Always start from the Mypoints website and you can earn points for shopping online at places like eBay, Overstock, Kohls, Sephora... You then turn the points into gift cards. That's it. Easy as 1-2-3. I've gotten so many gift cards I can't really remember how much I've earned anymore. Sound like fun? I can get points for making referrals, and you can get points for joining and completing a profile. Its a win-win. So leave your email in the comments and I will send you the referral info! We both can earn great gift cards, did I mention you can get GC for places like Walmart, Red Lobster, Cracker Barrel and other great places.

I'm so mad that I didn't take a before picture this AM! My friend Sara came over EARLY this AM to use my computer. Perfect opportunity to make my lazy ass get out of bed and get something done. My "great room" irritates me because I just don't know how to furnish it or arrange things. Well I got a bit of inspiration last night to move the big chairs around a little. The area still needs some work and obviously I haven't totally conqured the clutter but I'm happy w/ the progress for today. Here are the "after" pictures. Oh and the computer was Cori and Ethan's b-day gift from their dad! So glad to have my computer back!

Happy Birthday Cori and Ethan

Photobucket

Today was Cori and Ethan's b-day party and I am a lame mom. I didn't want to deal w/ a bunch of kids or all the presents so I told the kids they could only invite one person each. Well their friends didn't show up! Cori was disapointed. Ethan couldn't have cared less.

Photobucket

We went swimming at my pool of course. They had lots of fun as usual.

Cori got a High School Musical shirt and a High School Musical dance game.

Ethan got a Mater toy and a Policeman costume. The kids also got a computer from their dad. Cori will soon be learning how to download her photos from her digital camera and blogging. And I'm just happy to have my computer back!

I've learned my lesson. I'll just bite the bullet next year and let them invite a bunch of people that way at least SOMEONE will show up! LOL I don't know what I'm complaining about. Cori and Ethan's b-days are only two weeks apart so for at least a while I'll be able to do just one party for them. And thankfully Georgia won't need anything more than a family party for the next couple years!

Saturday 9: Sweet Dreams are Made of These

1. Do you ever have trouble sleeping?
I'm a bit of an insomniac. But if I go to bed late I sleep pretty well.

2. Do you remember your dreams?
Sometimes but usually only the ones that have a real meaning.

3. When you can’t sleep at night, are you worried about something?
Not really worried, but sometimes I just can't turn my mind off.

4. What are your plans today?
Well the day is mostly over. I worked this morning then had the kids b-day party and tonight I'm hanging w/ a friend.

5. What TV character are you most like?
I have no idea....I don't watch much tv.

6. What is your favorite thing to do online?
Blog, check my myspace, watch tv.

7. Did your father go to college? If yes, where?
Yup, to BYU back when they took all return missionaries w/out question.

8. If you had to share an office at work, what type of person would be the easiest for you to share with?
Someone who is a neat freak so it would encourage me to be neat too!

9. Name a star that no one would guess that you are a “closet fan” of?
I dunno

Flashback Friday

And here we are at another addition of Flashback Friday. The beautiful thing about this email I saved is although I haven't mastered the "clean house" I do believe I know myself MUCH better. I'm still searching which will be a life long journey I'm sure but I definitely have a better picture of me.

Photobucket

Email I sent October 4, 2005:
I've really been thinking about this and trying to nail down my most basic struggles. Besides "everything" which is what I thought of at first, I know my struggles are that of most SAHMs. I have 3 kids under 5, an infant who takes extra care, a husband who is in school, and A LOT on my plate! My most basic struggle is w/ the daily stuff. The stuff that HAS to be done in order for the house to stay in a "company ready state". It seems like I will do the dishes, or pick up the living room floor, and turn around 5 minutes later and I need to do those things all over again! I've spent the last 2 days doing laundry because I was behind and had some extra to do. Well, the laundry is done, but nothing else! I have 4 or 5 really bad hotspots. I try to go through them daily, but just don't have the time! It's another one of those things that seems to flare up once I turn my back! Dirving Cori to school and picking her up are taking a toll on me and I know my "taxi" job is only going to get worse as my kids get older! I am completely unorganized w/ my schedule. I have yet to find a planner/daytimer that works for me. I'm afraid to make a "to-do list" for fear it would be a mile long! I'll admit part of my personality has a "if I can't do it perfectly, why do it at all" quirk. I have had the fact that I am not perfect seared into my brain my whole life so badly that I've given up! My mom was talking to me the other day about HER need for perfection (she's the one who has told me how imperfect I am, and she gets if from her father and the fact that she was molested as a child) and her trying to have ONE perfect thing (even if that perfect thing is her sock drawer). I said flat out to her that I was not going to EVER be that perfect thing in her life. Now, that is true, since no one is perfect, however it shows what a low opinion I have of myself! I've tried to watch the couples Starting Over, and there is one gal who reminds me of ME! I can't remember her name, but she's the young dark haired girl who doesn't know what she wants to do w/ her life and feels pressure from her family and boyfriend to pick a profession. She admits that she spends most of her time trying to appear perfect and doesn't really know who she is. I realized that that is ME! I don't know WHO I am! I used to have a lot of interests/talents but kind of lost those things in my fog of depression that started at the end of my junior year. I'm still not out of that fog and that fog sometimes lets me do REALLY STUPID things! I'm listening to Dr Phil's "Self Matters" in hopes that I can learn to find my "authentic self". I really don't even know what that is, or how to go about finding it. Basically, I'm depressed and don't know how to get myself out of it! The prozac doesn't seem to help (well, I don't have the urge to kill my husband, kids, or myself so it is doing SOMETHING). Allen and I are in marriage counceling. We've had 2 sessions and both times we were both on our "best behavior". The councelor picked up on that and is trying to draw the problems out of us, but it's so frustrating. There are times when I am HOPPING MAD at that man, but I get over it so easily that I can't really remember what I'm upset about when we get to the councelor. So there's my input! I could go on and on and on and on and on.....about all my quirks (I have a lot of them) but I won't bore you!

10 Things I Hate About You

I hate the way you talk to me,
And the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car,
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots
And the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick,
It even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you’re always right,
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh,
Even worse when you make me cry
I hate it when you’re not around,
And the fact that you didn’t call
But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you,
Not even close…
Not even a little bit…
Not even at all.

No I didn't write this. It's from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You which is my favorite movie. And it describes EXACTLY how I'm feeling right now.

Manic Monday: My Wish

Photobucket

This truly is my wish for everyone!

Rascal Flatts Lyrics
My Wish Lyrics

A Democratic President is inevitable....

When it comes to politics I am very middle of the road. I have very strong views but they swing on a conservative to liberal pendulum abruptly. I believe that Americans want change so that means a Democratic President is inevitable. As much as I would like to someday see a woman president I fear that this country can't handle another Clinton administration. From what I've seen of Hilary Clinton there seems to be a lack of integrity that is needed in a president. So it looks like I'll be hitching my wagon to the Obama train. And don't get me started on the Republican candidates. I don't even want to go there!

Who You Should Vote For

Barack Obama: 69%
John Edwards: 63%
John McCain: 63%
Rudy Giuliani: 56%
Hillary Clinton: 50%
Ron Paul: 50%
Mike Huckabee: 25%
Mitt Romney: 19%

Who you agree with on the war in Iraq: John Edwards and Ron Paul

Who you agree with on the economy: Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain and Ron Paul

Who you agree with on health care: Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Ron Paul and Mitt Romney

Who you agree with on taxes: Rudy Giuliani, John McCain and Mitt Romney

Who you agree with on abortion: Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Barack Obama, and Rudy Giuliani

Who you agree with on gay rights: Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Rudy Giuliani, and Barack Obama

Weekend Snapshot

Photobucket

The kids went to a b-day party today at UBounce. They had a blast. I did NOT have a blast trying to find the place. It was out in Goodyear and I don't know that area AT ALL. And of course I got up and played w/ the kids. I haven't had a rug burn in YEARS! LOL

In other news I've gotten a job as a Karaoke Host! I am so excited! It's great to be able to make money at something you love doing! I start at Native New Yorker in mid February.
